Tsuri Bit つりビット

Often stylized as TSURIxBIT and also pronounced like Tsuribitto, Tsuri Bit is one of the catchiest idol groups in Japan.

It is hard to properly translate つりビット as it uses a word play mixing the words “fishing” and “angling” with the english word “bit”.

The theme of the group is fishing, which makes them stand out from other idol units, since fishing is well known to be an important part of japanese culture. The fishing theme is reflected in their songs as well as in their costumes and choreographies.

They are signed under the label Kisspoint Records. They released their debut single "Manatsu no Tentai Kansoku" (真夏の天体観測) in July 24, 2013 and since then have been working hard and have achieved notoriety in the idol industry as a very capable unit improving themselves every time they release a new song or music video.

From 2013 to 2014 they released 4 singles and 3 digital singles. Those releases were put together in their first album Fishing Life (フィッシングライフ) released on December 10th, 2014 with both critics and fans acclaim.

They regularly perform in a variety of small venues and record stores doing live events, meetings and goodies signing. Their performances feature high level dance and vocal skills but also a large amount of fun and charm, that’s why they have gained so many fans’ hearts in a small period of time.

During 2015 they released 3 singles, 1 digital single and 4 music videos. They showed a lot of improvement in 2015 as a very professional idol unit, catching larger audiences with each release.

Their musical style fits perfectly in the typical idol sound and has all the proper elements of J-pop but it distinguishes by having influences of Swing, Easy Listening and Big Band musical genres, mixed within a texture of Lo-Fi Synths and High Energy Pop.
